“To me, how a space feels is just as important as how it looks and functions”

My route into interiors has been shaped by a career in fashion, publishing and international events, as well as years spent living and working in different countries. For the past ten years, Copenhagen has been home, giving me a first-hand appreciation of Scandinavian design - not just its aesthetic, but its emphasis on craftsmanship, functionality and everyday life.

My approach brings that sensibility together with a love of colour, pattern, antiques and pieces with a story. I believe the best interiors feel collected rather than overly designed: beautiful and considered, but also comfortable, practical and personal to the people who live in them.

I’m Alecka, an interior designer based in Copenhagen.

What Matters To Me

Details

To me, any room you enter should spark curiosity, while giving you space to showcase the things that hold the most value to you personally.

Function

A space should work with your habits, not against them. Some things are simply part of daily life, so it makes more sense to embrace them than try to design them away.

Longevity

The materials you choose should get better with time, not leave you planning expensive do-overs. There’s a reason pieces of furniture made over a century ago are still in circulation today.

Materiality

How do things feel? The rug beneath your feet, the armrest against your skin. These details may seem small, but together they create a sensorial connection to the space you’re in.
