How do you make a coastal home feel connected to its surroundings without falling into nautical clichés? No anchors, rope or “gone to the beach” signs. Instead, I let the landscape influence the scheme in quieter, more considered ways.

Warm, earthy colours take their cue from the Irish landscape, creating a home that feels inviting on grey winter days as well as fresh in the summer. Natural, tactile materials bring warmth and texture, with an emphasis on local craft and heritage - from Irish linen and Donegal tweed to woven rush and natural stone finishes.

The result is a relaxed, characterful coastal home that feels of its place, rather than themed around it. Subtle references to the sea appear through movement, texture and pattern, while quality materials, thoughtful details and a few carefully chosen stripes and checks keep the look playful without becoming predictable.
