Summer House - Sweden

A traditional Swedish summer house, tucked into the forest and just a short walk from the beach. The setting did much of the heavy lifting, so the question became: how do you give guests that idyllic Swedish summer experience without making it feel staged?

As the house was primarily rented out, practicality was a key consideration. There needed to be plenty of storage, hard-working materials and everything a guest might need for an easy stay. But functionality didn’t need to come at the expense of character — it still needed to feel like a home, and somewhere you could properly switch off.

The approach was simple, warm and quietly Swedish. A calm, neutral palette was inspired by the surrounding forest and coastline, while natural materials and carefully chosen vintage details brought texture and warmth. The result feels authentic to its setting, while remaining comfortable and intuitive for guests arriving from anywhere in the world.
